The table draws inspiration from the Buddhist monuments that sit atop the rocky outcrops of Tibet. Echoing traditional stupas formed from mud or clay, each piece is crafted in plaster and turned by hand on a large lathe. From a distance, the fine spun lines create a softly blurred silhouette; on closer inspection, these resolve into delicate, precise striations of colour. These lines are formed using cotton threads, carefully set into the grooves, referencing the vibrant prayer flags that adorn these sacred structures.
