Produced by the last 'Beetler' in Ireland, Seed is crafted using the unique traditional technique of Beetling that dates back to the early 1700s. The lightweight fabric goes through a process where the woven fabric is pounded with wooden mallets (called 'beetlers') resulting in a flat finish on both the face and reverse sides The result is a high sheen, lustrous, crisp, and almost paper like quality. Beetled linen is delicate and will become more interesting in character as and when the fabric marks from contact with moisture. Please note that the fabric has a width of 132cm which is slightly narrower than standard.
