Handelsmann + Khaw's Bondi Beach Villa Featured on the Cover of Belle
An elegant celebration of Australian design, by Handelsmann + Khaw
DUNLIN is delighted to see Handelsmann + Khaw's Bondi Beach Villa featured on the cover of Belle magazine, with our Rue Small Rattan Wall Lights taking pride of place in the beautifully considered kitchen.
The residence has also been recognised as a finalist in two categories of the 2026 Belle Fanuli Interior Design Awards — Best Residential Interior and Best Residential Kitchen Interior.
A wonderful acknowledgement of the studio's distinctive approach to interiors and its appreciation for craftsmanship, natural materials and enduring design.
Bondi Beach Villa — An Exercise in Understated Elegance
Set against the lush coastal landscape of Bondi Beach, the residence embodies a refined yet relaxed approach to contemporary Australian living.
Handelsmann + Khaw has created a home of quiet sophistication, where architectural proportions, sculptural forms and carefully selected materials come together with effortless elegance.
Soaring arched windows introduce an abundance of natural light, while a restrained palette of warm whites, natural stone and richly textured finishes establishes a sense of calm throughout.
At the heart of the home, the kitchen is a beautiful expression of the studio's design philosophy. Sculptural stone surfaces, understated cabinetry and thoughtfully selected details create an interior that feels both contemporary and timeless.
Rue Small Rattan Wall Lights — DUNLIN
Featured prominently on the cover of Belle, the Rue Small Rattan Wall Lights bring warmth and natural texture to the kitchen. Positioned above the kitchen's open shelving, the fittings introduce a subtle decorative element, their organic forms providing a beautiful contrast to the clean architectural lines and natural stone. The result is an understated yet distinctive detail, reflecting the thoughtful balance of texture, proportion and materiality that defines the residence.
Greenwich Street Spot Lights — Raw Tarnished Brass
Featured in the home's striking double-height living room, DUNLIN's Greenwich Street Spot Lights in Raw Tarnished Brass bring a refined architectural detail to the space.
Designed with a pivoting head, the fittings allow light to be directed with precision, combining practical illumination with an understated sculptural form. The warmth and natural patina of the Raw Tarnished Brass sit beautifully against the home's soft plaster finishes and restrained palette.
Together with the Ruse Small Rattan Wall Lights featured in the kitchen, the Greenwich Street Spot Lights reflect the considered balance of decorative and architectural lighting throughout Handelsmann + Khaw's Bondi Beach Villa.
Celebrating Australian Design
Bondi Beach Villa's recognition in the 2026 Belle Fanuli Interior Design Awards is a wonderful achievement for Handelsmann + Khaw.
Named a finalist for both Best Residential Interior and Best Residential Kitchen Interior, the project celebrates the studio's ability to create spaces that feel deeply personal, beautifully resolved and enduring.
The same issue of Belle also features the studio's interiors for Riva, Rose Bay, a richly layered waterfront restaurant designed for SRG Hospitality. The editorial, Riva Forever, was written by Eliza O'Hare, with photography by Anson Smart.
Riva, Rose Bay — A Celebration of Decorative Lighting
Also featured in Belle magazine is Riva, Rose Bay, the beautifully realised waterfront restaurant designed by Handelsmann + Khaw for SRG Hospitality.
Inspired by the timeless elegance of Italian Riva yachts, the interiors bring together warm timber, richly layered textiles, sculptural lighting and vintage-inspired detailing. Overlooking Sydney's Rose Bay Marina, the restaurant captures a sense of relaxed European glamour.
Lighting plays an integral role throughout the project, with three distinctive collections represented by DUNLIN contributing to the restaurant's warm, inviting atmosphere.
Lighting Featured at Riva
HK05 Nickel Plated Brass Ceiling Light — Handelsmann + Khaw x DUNLIN
Arranged in a considered row along the ceiling, the HK05 Ceiling Lights introduce a refined architectural rhythm. Their sculptural forms and nickel-plated brass finish complement the restaurant's richly detailed interiors.
Piero Small Rattan Pendant — DUNLIN
Suspended above the dining tables, the Piero Small Rattan Pendants introduce natural texture and warmth. Their woven forms bring a relaxed, handcrafted quality to the space, beautifully complementing the timber joinery and upholstered seating.
Neo Ceiling Light in Chocolate — Buchanan Studio x Original BTC
The Neo Ceiling Lights in Chocolate add a distinctive decorative element to the restaurant's layered lighting scheme. Designed by Buchanan Studio in collaboration with Original BTC, their sculptural forms and rich amber-brown tones bring warmth and character to the ceiling.
Together, these three lighting collections reflect Handelsmann + Khaw's considered approach to balancing architectural detail, natural materials and decorative expression.
The result is an interior that feels both intimate and timeless, where lighting contributes as much to the atmosphere as the furnishings and finishes.
